Sorry, I can't help, novice with quail here too (my first eggs go into lockdown tomorrow). Just wanted to say, cute chicks and hope someone more knowledgeable can help.
I planned out my pumpkin patch last weekend and doing my corn bed this weekend, my corn plants have shot up in my greenhouse over the last week. I've got some lettuce and some more radishes ready to harvest. The gardens are really starting to fill out, I love watching it all explode into life 😍.
I bought a couple of jostaberry plants last year, I haven't planted them out yet, I potted on shortly after getting them and they have just recently shot up over the past few months. Hoping they will make a nice hedge at one end of one of my allotment plots. Have you had any fruit off of yours...
I have 4 growing at my allotment that I planted 2 years ago, all are doing great, I've given them hardly any maintenance at all so far, from my experience you can pretty much just leave them to it (I'm not sure about when the plants get much older though, they may need pruning then, I'll wait...
It's Sunday night here, hope everyone had a good weekend. Managed to get the last of my early potatoes in today and a cover crop on one of the beds I'm resting until Autumn. My first lot of radishes are well on their way and my zinnia and giant sunflowers seedlings are doing well, nothing else...
I heard that before, pretty much everyone here grows them as annuals though, probably because of climate. I would love to grow them as perennials, I was going to look into that, thanks for jogging my memory.
My zinnias and giant sunflowers have started coming up in my greenhouse :woot. No sign...
Just seen this thread. I'm in the UK and hopefully getting quail this year so would like to follow along. I've also been looking at Moonridge Farm so it's good to see the recommendation.
