What's your ambient temp? This hatch I left the heat lamp on for only 3 days because the house stays 80-82. Wonder if I need it at all.I see an experiment brewing.
I'm thinking about splitting each bath of chicks up in to 3 brooders.
1 with heat plate
1 regular light bulb
1 with no heat source
I would not add heat if my house stayed at 80 or 82°.What's your ambient temp? This hatch I left the heat lamp on for only 3 days because the house stays 80-82. Wonder if I need it at all.
I guess that explains why it was only $1.I would not add heat if my house stayed at 80 or 82°.
I don't think I'm going to use the heat plate correctly either because I don't want to burn the dummies.
It kept climbing up into about 114° before it stopped to climbing.
.
I just raised it higher which makes it so quail chicks would not be able to touch the heat plate.
I have the thermometer sitting on the napkin underneath the raised heat plate to see how warm it gets underneath.
I'll report back in about 20 minutes.
@Kiki At 114 degrees, It might make a good dehydrator for making yogurt.I guess that explains why it was only $1.
