Yea, they free range at least a few hours every day. And if I'm home, and its not dark they are out. I also get them some fish every now & again, live, or like now that everything's frozen I'll give them some salmon in water from the can. But only like once a week, Sometimes only every other...
Okay. And here I was thinking the opposite. I figured all that crap in there would be nutritious. Okay I will just stick with the feed. Is the flock raiser okay alone, or should I look for something else now that they are a little older?
I've been mixing the Purina premium flock raiser crumbles with some dumor scratch.
They seem to like it & it seems like its good for them. I mean her eggs are always very nice and consistent in color, the yolk seemed very good as well. I also give them a few flock party quack snacks a day too.
That's what everyone says. Lol, thanks... I know, i love her. She's even prettier when she has her black patches. I'm so glad y'all are out there. An hour ago I'm thinkin I need help. After all this little ducks been through, I'd hate it if she was sick. Now will this happen with the drakes as well?
Thanks, and thanks! I mean I hate to seem like an amateur lol. I didn't come into this blind, I did research n all. I just don't remember reading that she's do this now. Maybe a dumb question. But what of she was in the wild, how would she survive or defend herself? I mean I clipped her and I...
Here's what she'd let me get.
Someone else was saying its probably the stakes going after her. But they have been really good. They seem to get along well and they live together and she has them by 6 months. She raised them. When they were ducklings it was July, so I'd put them in the pen with...
Yes, I definitely read that. I tried my best not to have this kind of situation. I noticed a few months back they would try in this little pool they have. But I now keep just enuff water for them to splash a bit. And plus its winter here and been really cold. With maybe a warm day here or there...
I don't think its the other 2. They get along great. Always together, always around her like body guards. I came out to check on her and took a closer look for maybe lice or mites. But she seems ok. However I noticed what looks like dandruff coming off her as well.
Hoping someone can help. Over the last 2wks or so my female black duck started losing feathers on her wings & underside of her wings and she is also not laying eggs anymore. She is around a year old. The feathers seem to be lose and just fall out. I am fairly new to raising birds, she is my...
Hi, I've been raising ducks for about a yr now, I have an eastern black duck and 2 from what I can tell Rouen ducks. The black duck Quackers is a female and she is around a year. I've notice over the past 2wks or so now that she's been losing feathers on her wings and underside of her wings. but...
