    questions about chicken breeding

    so i am just starting out with chickens and i am wondering if i get a couple different breeds of hens or pullets such as silkies, olive eggers, Rhode island reds, and barred rocks will i have to get a variety of roosters or can i just get one breed of rooster like a silkie?

    Hey everyone, im emily!

    i am about to start building my chicken coop this weekend. i have loved all the coop ideas. if anyone has any suggestions id really appreciate it. im going to try the DE with the pine shavings in the coop part and then in the outdoor run it currently has grass and maybe later ill add sand.
