"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

That was a lot of sand to move! I need to break down and get sand hauled in. I'm just dreading the extra labor on top of finishing the other 7 coops I need to build. Ughhh....so much to do and so little time to do it.

A really good heavy duty rake helps a LOT in spreading that stuff -- but you will be SO glad come hurricane season - it drains so fast & so well! No smelly pens w/sand!

Thank you all for the welcomes!
That would be so great. I have all this wood, and no time or know how to use it. All the prefab coops are either too small, too poorly made, are waaaaaay to expensive.
Please let me know if you find someone.

Sent you a PM.

So one of my Christmas Roosters is trying to crow...first time today... Its pretty funny. I have no idea which one it is! I have two barred rock, a GL Wyandotte, and BCMarans in that pen and I can't catch him in the act! Once I fed them this morning he stopped. Guess he wanted me to hurry up with breakfast :)

Our white Bresse boys from a December hatch started crowing this week too. Sounds like a rusty horn lol! I hope they figure it out soon.

Yes, Meet-Up is what I was thinking. Actually, when I first became interested in chickens, this is where I looked.

I am a member of the local aquarium society here. They hold get-togethers regularly. Sometimes it's pot-luck, sometimes someone may cook a big gumbo or jambalaya. Someone may even plan a presentation. Members will often bring things for door prizes - small things like aquarium decorations, old books, magazines, or even live fish. We even give presentations on fish keeping at the libraries. It's a lot of fun!!

I wouldn't mind starting something up... I'm just chickenless until I get moved.

Chickens not required, just love of them, intrest in them, and desire to have some, at least that's what I would think. Go for it and let us know so we can sign up. And, yes, the name is super!!
