3 month old lamb coughing and not eating

I don't know much about sheep but when I found a day old lamb on the road, I couldn't just leave her, so I brought her home. She was frozen. Her mouth was ice cold. She couldn't move, her head kept rolling back and she never opened her eyes. I mixed up some "colostrum" and fed her with a spoon...

Oh wow okay. That's really interesting. See? I'm learning already :) And yes, I think I got her two years ago and she's still my best layer. Giving me double yolks every so often too.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! Yoyo is a rescue dog, Nancy, so not 100% sure of her breed. I'm pretty sure she has border collie/ kelpie in her though. Her mum was listed as a Collie cross Mastiff Michael - I have one Isa brown, who is an absolute sweetheart, and the other 4 are mixes :)

Hi everyone. I've refereed to this site for a few issues with my animals, but am only now getting into being a member a bit more. My family and I have recently moved to a small farm and it is beautiful. It has a rather large dam that we are turning into a small lake, then getting some ducks. It...

    Emergency! Sick hen. Sour crop?

Thanks so much Sarah. I didn't give her any oil (thankfully), but she did forage around a bit. This morning her comb had lost the dark purple colour and was sticking up again. She's pretty much back to her usual self :) Thanks again!

    Emergency! Sick hen. Sour crop?

My beautiful hen, Pepper, has gotten sick almost overnight. Yesterday I noticed her standing around and not doing much. This has happened to two of my egg bound hens, so I felt her abdomen area and thought I felt an egg. I isolated her from the other hens to let her lay. I got her out again this...

Internal laying? Egg bound? First emergency ):

Please help. I am trying to diagnose my hen, but honestly I have no clue? 1. Swollen abdomen 2. Bowed sort of feet (facing inward) 3. Large/normal appetite 4. Tail down when walking and sitting 5. She will sometimes stand in a penguin sort of stance (like trying to lay an egg) 6. Her poop...

    Swollen abdomen? Egg bound or?

My hen has a bloated sort of abdomen. I have soaked her in a warm bath and there is still no egg after 2 days.. Her poop is sort of sticky and the size of a pellet or rabbits poop? She does stand like a penguin from time to time but nothing happens so she starts walking with just her tail down...

Egg bound / Crop bound? Emergency!

Hi, I'm new to BYC and am looking forward to asking a lot of questions about my poultry. (: First question: My hen has had a swollen abdomen with her tail down for a while now. I noticed she was having problem pooing and had something like 'pasty but'. I thought she could be egg bound so I...
