    Here the cats stare at the chickens.... as if they are dreaming of some huge roast but thats all. My standard size chickens are too big for them. My chickens will take food from the cats as well and the cats just sit back and watch annoyed.

    A couple weeks back I was in the ER with my daughter and saw an infant being brought in with a bite to the face. Poor thing. Sounds like this dog would be happy to live in a home with no small children Good luck

    I read that they generally get off the nest from 15/30 minutes. I would just wait and see if she gets back on pretty quick

    well she sounds determined. Maybe your idea on putting a wire cage in the coop will work. I would try and hang something over it or something so the other chickens dont jump up top and poo on her :S no nice way to say that. As far as the water freezing.... Im from Tx and it doesn't freeze too...
