    Secret ingredient: Vinegar! (Not too much though... just a dash or sprinkle) I'll put a little wasabi in every now and then, or sprinkle with Tony's Seasoning Salt, but I NEVER forget the vinegar. It gives the eggs the extra little zing they need to spark the taste buds.

    To answer the question about the Jockey Lot... It isn't closing as far as I know. I'm headed over there in the morning. I'll see what I can find out. There is definitely nothing like it. The Ladson Flea Market north of Charleston does run a close second though.

    chickens will not roost in coop

    Don't you close the pop-door at night? We have 6 & they cruise in at sundown/dusk. We then close the door behind them to keep predators out. We were a little concerned that one of the Golden Comets couldn't get up to the roost so we built her a ramp. Everyone sleeps up high now.

    I'm Amy. We've only had our chickens since September 28th. My RIR, Lorraine, is danger girl. She was the first to take a flying leap off the 4' retaining wall, stays up late, and is the only one who's voluntarily hopped up in my lap to see what's goin' on.
