I participated in the Christmas gift swap and got the greatest stuff... I don't know the posting handle(s) of the family to call them out, but they are fabulous gift givers. I can't wait until Spring to put the beautiful vase to good use.
The Gund rooster even makes noise... and drives the...
We hit the jackpot!! We got a GREAT chicken ornament and another fabulous one as a bonus. This is just like Christmas... oh wait, it is!
Tfpets is a SUPER ornament swapper. Thanks a million!!
This pic doesn't do it justice. It was the coolest idea and perfectly executed.
This is our...
Secret ingredient: Vinegar! (Not too much though... just a dash or sprinkle)
I'll put a little wasabi in every now and then, or sprinkle with Tony's Seasoning Salt, but I NEVER forget the vinegar. It gives the eggs the extra little zing they need to spark the taste buds.
Oh my... I have 5 different ones that I keep separate info on to share with others.
I am President of our local Kiwanis club. It is so nice to be able to handoff an entire drive of files to another officer or board member for them to access what they need rather than having to email...
To answer the question about the Jockey Lot... It isn't closing as far as I know. I'm headed over there in the morning. I'll see what I can find out.
There is definitely nothing like it. The Ladson Flea Market north of Charleston does run a close second though.
Thanks, but I have already exhausted all of my options around here. All the new ones at the feed store and Ace are Carhardt (expensive and stiff). And the Salvation Army doesn't have squat. I'm afraid that the wives haven't been able to wrangle their men out of their overalls. (That or...
Huge pet peeve of mine.... Not only is irregardless not a word, neither is orientate .
News Anchors are the worst. I'd like to send them all back to high school grammar classes. Maybe they would pay attention the second time through!
Don't you close the pop-door at night? We have 6 & they cruise in at sundown/dusk. We then close the door behind them to keep predators out. We were a little concerned that one of the Golden Comets couldn't get up to the roost so we built her a ramp. Everyone sleeps up high now.

Wow! My mother is from Thomaston originally. Just had her 48th class reunion from R.E. Lee. She said it has really changed since we were there about six or seven years ago.

Now that he's returned...
I'm Amy.
We've only had our chickens since September 28th. My RIR, Lorraine, is danger girl. She was the first to take a flying leap off the 4' retaining wall, stays up late, and is the only one who's voluntarily hopped up in my lap to see what's goin' on.
2 things I definitely would change if I were rebuilding...
#1 Nest boxes that are accessible from the outside so I don't have to get poo on my shoes.
#2 A dust trap across the farthest wall where it meets the floor. It may be called something different where you are, but the gist is the...
I am the Marketing Director for our city government that owns the utilities for the town. Mostly I spend my days managing sales & programming for our broadband cable, cable internet and digital phone systems.
I love my job!
If you saw my post with pics earlier, you know that we picked up 3 8-wk old BOs this afternoon. We've named the first two Persaline and Tupalo (honey). We just haven't been able to come up with a name for the 3rd. Because they are yellow birds, that is a central theme in the names.
Anyone...

I think you just hit the nail on the head!! I had a Jack Russell who used to catch & eat field mice. They gave her the stinkiest farts! Peee-Ew!!! There's no point in trying to get a dog to stop being a dog so outside she went (undoubtably went gladly to eat more mice)!!
