Welcome to all the new folks!
For hard boiled eggs, I read and used the following method well.
1. When done rinse and chill immediately, using ice if possible. Get as cold as possible.
2. Tap the top (pointed end) and then the bottom and wait just a few seconds. This allows for separation...
It's hard to tell.you can post under the what gender is this forum. From what I've gleaned, boys are usually more flashy in color, while girls have more regular, predictable coloring, boys have larger legs, usually.
So happy for you! Children are a true blessing and I pray that your wife and son can arrive here with you quickly. Happy birthday to you and please let your wife know we wish her all the best.
Mine will stay out usually until the sun is almost all the way down. It was about 8:30 last night. They are out right now having a ball. And there is a beautiful double rainbow. My youngest is also outside with a friend playing in the puddles. Alas, teenagers don't play in puddles, so they are...
Lisa,
I am so sorry. I wish there was a way we could all help you. Try to rest tonight and I pray the four are okay and just hiding out until the coast is clear.
Good info here. You can also see them called Americauna, and some do it on purpose but others don't. If you want colored eggs, it's not an issue. If you want to breed or show, make sure to get from a reputable breeder. For me, I'm in it all for the eggs. I've got no EEs but would love some one day.
For welsummers, girls have eyeliner and a darker, more defined V on the head. Boys have no eyeliner and a less defined, smudged v on head. Most are easy to tell, but some are iffy. Best to sex early, so not sure if you can tell this late.
I would say yes. If they are like mine, they will all choose the same one! My girls completely ignore any other nest box except the first on the right. All eggs go in there, and ihave four hens. So four hens per box = 20 hens. My own version of chicken math. Lol
For hens, four eggs. And I'm the one who feels productive.
And my girls, not roosting. But the poop is under the roost in the morning, so do they get up there later? I just took the picture, and they put themselves to bed about an hour ago.
Edited to add: and notice poor penny by the door...
