    Chicken Coop Door Large enough?

    I have two month old Orphingtons and Australorps. Would a 9 inch wide 15 inch Tall opening work for them to come in and out of the Coop? I am afraid that the width is too small.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I have thought about that idea but with 10 chickens, I would need a much larger enclosure. I have been toying with the idea of making a 10x10 enclosure out of PVC and some plastic chicken wire.

    I will be getting my chicks Wednesday from the Co-op. This is my first time and was wondering if a cheap Thermometer was enough to measure the temperature in my brooder for the them? If not does someone have a suggestion on a good inexpensive thermometer?

    Well, It is becoming a beast. I am going to have to do some calculations to see how heavy this monstrosity will be. While the image does not show it, the bottom will be framed out in wood. Once I figure out the actually design, I will go back in and add the framing.

    Based on the link I posted earlier I redesigned my tractor but if they need 10 sqft a piece for the run, I am not sure a tractor is feasible anymore. I would like to be able to move it myself. Not require a Simi Truck. *Sigh* I guess it is back to the drawing board.
