Weak and one eye went cloudy

Here are the photos of the one with the weird eye. Pictures of both eyes. One is black. The other looks like it doesn't exist anymore.

Weak and one eye went cloudy

We are feeding we are feeding Purina unmedicated starter crumble. Temp is 90 in the warm side and 80 on the cool side. (But that's with a digital meat thermometer- so I don't think it's super accurate.) They have electrolytes in their water, and they all ate grow gel from the hatchery when...

Weak and one eye went cloudy

We purchased 16 chicks from Meyer hatchery. They will be 2 weeks old on Mon. 2 have already died (at 2 days old, and 1 week old.) Another became weak today and one eye is closed. When we pull up the lid, her eye has become colorless and cloudy. It used to be black. Any ideas what's going on...

Im in NC. I know where our animal diagnostic lab is, drive past it all the time. Good idea- thank you. I’ll take the next one that passes in and find out what’s going on.

    Wobbly chickens- dying.

They are fed Nutrena layer pellet from Southern States. But I have switched food a few times due to low egg production. They used to be fed Dumor from tractor supply and Purina layer pellet as well. They are not free range- they are confined to a run- but a large run. I’m not sure if they...

    Wobbly chickens- dying.

Hello all. We have lost four older (4+ years) hens to a mysterious illness over the past few months. Symptoms begin with wobbly/off balance gate. Falling over while walking and catching themselves with their wings. Eventually they stop walking altogether, find a spot to sit and slowly die...

Sponsored Post Nestera Coop Giveaway! Total worth $1595

The fact that it is red mite resistant is awesome. This would make a perfect transition coop for new chicks moving outside and starting to integrate with the rest of the flock.

    ISA brown with black tail??

Hi all. Quick question out if curiosity: We purchased 20 chicks from our local Southern States feed store about 6 weeks ago. A few of them are ISA browns. They are all growing well, but one of the ISA browns has dark dark black on the tip of its tail. Has anyone ever seen this before? Does it...

    Curious about this “pullet”

UPDATE: I believe I see black saddle feathers coming in on this one. I think the most recent replies are correct. This one is a rooster. Although- he has never crowed. Must be 6 months old by now.

    Young rooster stopped crowing

I guess chickens are like people…each one is a little but different. This guy is our first ever rooster. So, it’s all going to be a fun learning experience. 😊

    Young rooster stopped crowing

Very interesting. My guy actually spends a lot of time alone. He doesn’t hang out with the hens much at all. Maybe he’s just not a very good rooster. Hahaha! I guess I’m fine with that, maybe that will prevent some aggressive behavior towards humans…???

    Young rooster stopped crowing

I have an approximately 6 month old rooster (I believe he’s an EE.) He was living with 4 pullets that he came to our property with, separate from our original hens. He was crowing every morning. After I merged them with my original flock (all hens, between 2 or 4 years old) and they all...
