So glad you posted this. I’ve been trying to figure out our almost 8 week old calico Cochin bantam. I’m leaning towards pullet. She's a pullet. Just a few tips for sexing your own babies in the future.
The tail isn't the best way to tell gender. You always want to look at the comb and waddles as those are the best indicator.
A lot of breeds will start to show signs of gender at 5 weeks of age, and Marans, and other large combed breeds will show even sooner at 4 weeks.
When sexing at 4 weeks, Pullets will have thin, small, and pale combs, with almost non-existent waddles. Cockerels will have a larger comb that is deep or light pink depending on breed, with large and matching waddles.

The above are 5 week old bantam Calico Cochins. They aren't showing to many signs yet, but a week later PB's comb became large and red along with his waddles.
Older birds may have larger feet, long and curving sickle feathers, and will get pointed saddle and hackle feathers at 12ish weeks of age. Comb and waddles are still the best way to make a guess.
