It isn't illegal to buy or sell these birds, you just can't fight them. You can even dub them(cut extra skin off their face) but once dubbed you can't legally transport them any more. We have trio of cock fighting American games, but the rooster has never been dubbed and we never will fight...- hgillins

We bought 50 Cornish X at Cal ranch spring before last. If you buy them from there you can get as many or as few as you want. Ours grew to about 17lbs live weight average and were only 13 weeks old. if you get some, only allow food during the day, clean out the pen often(they poop a ton), and...- hgillins

So very sad with our chicken luck as of late. Before we got the chickens moved to our new property the dog in the pen next to theirs managed to snap our polish hen's neck. She was my wife's favorite and she was pretty upset when it died. We figured things would be much better since the move, but...- hgillins

It had dug a small hole under the fence and there were few feathers from few different birds from the chase and my wife's silkie roo was pulled through the hole, his one leg got stuck and was left in the fence and the rest of the bird was gone. From what I have read, I will have to cover the trap with branches and grass and put bait in front of the trap and wait for the food to be gone. Wire the door up and set food just inside the trap till that is gone. Then set trap and put food in the back of the trap. Once they feel like it is...- hgillins

Does anyone up north have a live animal trap that they would let me borrow for a few days? I have a predator problem and thinking it is a fox or cat. I would rather move it somewhere else than kill it. I plan on talking to animal control tomorrow to see what my options are.- hgillins

He is 16 months, and he still seems to be the same, hopefully he gets better soon. It is hard to see him lay around when he doesn't even like holding still when its bed time. We are going to have our chickens finally at our place starting tomorrow. I pen was finished in the dark so hopefully it looks as good tomorrow as it did tonight. It will be nice not having to drive 30 mins to check on them. The only thing that might stop the chickens moving tomorrow is my boy...- hgillins

We finally got our first house and can now have our chickens at our place, instead of having them 35 minutes away. We are mostly settled and now it is time to move the birds. What is the easiest way to move a flock? Both pens and coop need to be moved, along with 20 birds.- hgillins

I was at my grandma's and she said the leaves look so good that she wanted to eat them. I told her I thought that they were poisonous. One thing lead to another and them she pulled out a pot and we made the first batch. She since made tons of it and doesn't have bugs in her garden or fruit trees...- hgillins
