That's gross after labor is paid; not quite net. Materials are covered by customers. Almost everything else is a tax write-off. Believe me, the company is not hurting.
Regardless, even if they're broke they can't just break laws. A lot of small business owners don't do their own payroll...
This is a fencing and deck company that grosses over a million a year. They are doing just fine.
I do have a few more clues as to their money-grubbing.
1) Dh's boss complains to him all the time about how much money his wife spends. He can't change her, so it's safe to assume that he'll...
Our only law in Indiana is that we have to provide the superintendent with our proof of 180 hours of school per year if asked. I've never been asked, and we're 2 years into it.
Dh has child support and 2 garnishments that come out of his check. The cs is $93 per week, Garnishment 1 is $20 a week. The problem is garnishment #2. It has no stated amount per week, but Indiana state law says no more than 25% of disposable (net) income can be taken for all garnishments...

Not necessarily. My son got it on the first try when he was 2 1/2, because he's speech-delayed. As long as you have all the medical paperwork, it *should* go through ok. It takes a few months for payments to start, but they backpay from the time you applied, not the time you were...
To the suggestion that I leave dh with the kids....
He has NO patience. He grew up in a super-strict military family, and he doesn't remember what it's like to be a kid. The kids would be miserable, and he probably would be too. Some men make good moms, but he is not one of them.
