Foster Parenting

he has smiled once, ONCE. that just scares me! I told him i am gonna give him kisses and love even if he hates it. Nibbled his neck and snorted in his ear, he smiled. he did eat green beans tonight, lol everyone was giving him theirs(my sons) it was cute.

I rubbed his head and between his eyes to get him to bed tonight. My husband has had it! He is sooo ticked at the parents he can't stop. Of course behind closed doors. Mom's a tweeker and he probally only could get bread and water to eat for himself. he probally wasn't nurtured properly. he leaves on monday to live with his 3 day old brother who tested positive for meth. I can only imagine.

I told him, while you are hear, you will be loved! I will love you and hold you and give you kisses no matter what!
He does love my chickens, goats and dog. he screams and chases the dog and kisses him. puts his hand right in the run and pets the chickens. I am not giving up on him, dispite only having him till mon.

Now just to understand my non verbal.....he knows how to sign. Will be getting a book tomorrow to learn and communicate better. He can speak but it's 2 year old mumbble and he is 4. Cute as a button~

my non verbal is wayyyy to much for us! I have neglected my kids to care for him and feel like he should be placed some where else. He needs to have daycare 5 days a week and speech theropy. I don't work so daycare is out~ I have to work to get the voucher. Theropy is 2 hours away and i just can't commit to that! We don't have the cars,.

Kinda ticked cause they should have told me these things before placing him. they said he had exzema and tubes in his ears. They neglected to tell me the rest! URGGGHHHHH

Hmm, that's not right.

I had a cutter placed with us when we were brand spanking new. We weren't aware of all her problems and kind of scared the crap out of me to walk upstairs to bleeding arms and wrists the 1st time. She was one we weren't able to help out, and needed far more structure than foster care could allow so......... I'll see her in about 5 more years when she gets out

Has anyone here ever dealt with social security? My oldest girl has an apt on thursday?

Just survivors benifits, I suspect you have something else going on though. If the send a list of paperwork to you, have it ready, if not, expect to get a list at the meeting.

its more ssi-ssd stuff. My wife has some experience with it, but usually at the other end, not the intake. I've been told by a lot of people that they deny you right off the bat and you have to await your appeal?

Not necessarily. My son got it on the first try when he was 2 1/2, because he's speech-delayed. As long as you have all the medical paperwork, it *should* go through ok. It takes a few months for payments to start, but they backpay from the time you applied, not the time you were approved.

Wiley gets Suplemental security benifits. he was elegible thanks to my best bud Clinton! he passed a law that any child under 2lbs 9 oz automatically recieves it!!! Wiley was 2lbs7oz.

I know that they will entrust a guardian and she will get a check every month. Wiley's is $606.00 and he has health care through it as well. I think it took a month or so to get it started. Not sure how foster kids go in regards to payments and income verifications.

Can be a pain in regards to the paper work but sooo worth it!!

Social security and supplemental are different though. Ask about both!! Social security is harder to get
