have read that the siberian pea bush produces good quality seed - a great bush to plant in their foraging area.
It is considered a pest in some areas though.

I like the idea of supplementing as much as I can, without stressing over growing it all. I'm starting to look into duckweed - it is supposed to be VERY high in protein, easy to grow and a great food source. It replaces itself VERY quickly, and I'm hoping to keep some containers growing indoors...

I LOVE my mutts - because - each one looks unique and we can tell them apart by apprearance and personality. I have 3 mutts, 2 Black Astralorps, and 4 EEs. My kids have claimed the mutts as they know who is who.
BTW - all seem to lay at about the same rate - and our skinniest little banty mix...

I have a small flock of chickens but I don't keep a rooster. I'm planning to hatch some new chicks in the summer and would LOVE to hatch from my own eggs... thus I plan to borrow a rooster. Does anyone know how long I would have to keep the rooster before I can collect the 'hatching...
I've had huge success with refridgerated eggs I recieved from a fellow BYc'er. I gave them 24hrs out of the fridge before incubating - 100% hatch
