My duck wont be a duck!

It's the age. She's still a baby and see the chickens as her "peeps" When she starts to mature she will do both - hang out with the chickens, and enjoy a swim in the pond. <3

    Calling welsh harlequin experts

Bassgin - The black on the ridge of his bill is a 2 point deduction, The white on his wings, sides and tail are faults. Don't get me wrong he's a beautiful bird, and a better picture may show that the white is grey or it may hide when he's standing up instead of flat like that which is perfectly...

    Calling welsh harlequin experts

Are you looking to show these birds, or just keep them as pets? The final feathering isn't too bad, but there is 1 golden hen and the drake is not up to par with the standard. If all you want is pets they will be perfectly fine.

    Indian Runner Ducks

You lucky dawg. THere are a couple nice breeders in the NC area for runners. Greenlands Farm has great Grey runners... I'd love to have some of their stock.

Handsome Bantam Lavender Orp. Free! Tampa FL

Thanks. He's only just 4 months old and his feathering is coming in so nicely. I may bring him to the January State Fair to show and put him up for sale there, if I can curb the neighbors ill will with a deadline. ;-)

Welsh harlequin? Silkie? Runner duck or a mix of all 3?

Definitely runners in the mix. the drake has a nice upright posture for a cross, so I'd say less than 25% other breed, and judging his color his parents are also diluted, mostly likely one was fawn based ont he colors of the hen as well.... Looking at the ducklings I would say you've got buff...

Is this a black Runner or Swedish?

Awww... your little girl is a cutie. I'm calling her a barnyard mix. She looks happy and that's what matters most. <3

Are these eggs Duck or chicken eggs

Best test? Crack that sucker. If it cracks like a chicken egg, it is a chicken egg. Duck eggs are much thicker, harder and the membrane inside is harder to separate. There will be no doubt if you try to open it.

Is it possible to tell the sex of a runner duck at 8 weeks?

SOunds male - Watch for the black bill starting to turn green. If it turns you are looking at a male. Hope it works out either way.

    Rats - arrgh

Best thing you can do is remove the food. As seen in the video they will come during the day if they can't find it at night. When I get the first hint that there are rats around I switch to feeding a scoop of food in the am and one in the afternoon. The morning food I have no control over - so...

    Aggressive Rouen Drake!

Different for every duck is he coming at you with his head down - neck extended? This can be either aggression or submission. Is he just chasing you without his mouth open? If he's doing that it's definitely his imprinting and he's probably wanting to mate with you. You'll need to decide which...
