If anyone is able and willing, there are about 30 Muscovy ducks at the entrance of Holley By The Sea in Navarre, (Sunrise Drive and Navarre Parkway intersection), that are being threatened and need to be relocated before they are destroyed. If you are able to help re-home these ducks to your...
Hi! She survived it and lasted the longest of all my RIR's! She ended up being blind in that eye but she got around fairly well. Occasionally I would have to separate her from a bossy hen, but she did great. She finally succumbed to illness this fall, but she did great for a long long time! Hope...
Here are my Cochins :D What do you guys think of my Roo? Is he show quality? I'm really interested to see what the chicks will look like when they grow up too! The pictures of the hens are the possible mothers. What do you think? Mottled?
I have 5 bantam chickens that I raised from chick; 2 are roos, 3 hens; I rescued a standard size BR Roo; is it possible for them to co-exist without killing each other? Or is it a chance I shouldn't take? If they can co-exist in the same run, how do I introduce them?

As a vet tech, I have to say that I've seen a lot of different diets work in a lot of different ways. We have had dogs and cats come in with different problems from different brands. The number 1 problem I see is obesity, followed by a close 2nd in skin disease (althought a lot of the skin...
Thank you for your info! Also, today she sounds great! I gave her some yogurt mixed with feed and she is still bright and alert! She even laid an egg for me lol! So, I am continuing to monitor her, keep her away from other chickens, but I am hopeful. I'll keep you posted!
I found this link to another discussion, I think these may be the answers I need...but still, any support or suggestions are welcome. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=227876
I went outside tonight to shut the coop and heard "snoring". I went in to investigate and one of my hens had this weird breathing, (see link). I brought her inside in a temporary pen away from the others, (none of them were sounding this way) and did a thorough look over. Her eyes are bright...
