I See that you said after the last dose discard the eggs for 14 days. How many doses do they need?

    Roundworms

I was out with my girls this afternoon when one of the pooped and a roundworm came out. It was about three inches long. She is one of our really good laying hens. Do the worm affect the eggs and how can I get rid of them! So grossed out right now!:tongue

    Attacked by dog.

Thank you but it has turned for the worst. She is not eating or drinking. Even with a syringe she won't drink. She is drooling, labored breathing and she won't open her eyes. I hate to make her suffer just to make me feel better knowing that she probably won't survive. Thank you for the support.

    Attacked by dog.

One of my Americanas flew into the dog pen and was attacked. My poor girl is now limping when she does walk. The only visible injuries are on one leg which explains the limp but no other marks. She is not eating or drinking well and her poops are all white and creamy. She just sits there. Is...

Possible seizers? What should I do?

I have a blue Swedish that I think is seizing. She has not been able to used her legs since yesterday. She can move them but she doesn't seem to have control over them. I have seen her seize up once before and she came out of it about 5 minutes later. What you think? I hate to see her suffer...

    Newbie that is becoming obsessed

FORTUNATELY the obsession most likely won't go away. If you love your chickens and enjoy them for more than just the eggs, then so be it. Keep telling your stories to your friends and co-workers. I do the same. What are "obsessed chicken ladies" supposed to do? Keep all the fun stories to...

Haunted55~ I am using a still are incubator, hand turning them three times a day with cooling and misting. I have hatched out others before with no problems. Yes I did hold them for a few days. I believe these eggs were held for 4 days. I do wash my hands before and after I turn them. So far all...

    I think I'm in love!

I raise White Chinese and Brown African's. Love those little babies when they hatch! I just want to love them, pet them and name them George! LOL! Anyway.... All of my geese forage for weeds and grass and eat scratch grains and layer pellets. All of them seem to do great with that, even my...

Babies hatching under a mother hen...need advice please!!!

I would try to candle some of the eggs to see if they are developing. If that is the case then keep her there until you think she may be done. Once she is done I would move her to a safe place away from the pool area if you can to keep the babies safe. Good luck with you babies!! Post some pics!

5 day old sick baby goose.

Thanks for your support. It is greatly appreciated. I have another goose that is supposed to hatch around July 16th. The only one out of 6, so I put 3 chicken eggs in there with it and they are all growing great so far. Maybe I will have better luck this next time and I have a little more...

5 day old sick baby goose.

This baby did start pipping at the bottom of the egg instead of the top. I just wonder if that is what happened. I guess we live and we learn. Thank you for posting that. Much appreciated.

5 day old sick baby goose.

After I got home from work today and headed to Tractor Supply to get meds for a chicken that was attacked by the dog from down the street, my husband called me and said that Baby Goose died. Poor little guy. I guess it was time for him to go to heaven so that my newly injured polish bantam could...

5 day old sick baby goose.

Haunted55~ Did you notice in picture three how he is carrying his wings? He moves them up and down but never close to his body. They always hang down like arms.
