I'm in Redding. I have 5 hens, but only 3 are laying so far. The other two are just becoming old enough to lay. Love my birds.

This is Lucy. She is really a character. Love my chickens. These are the babies right after I brought them home from the feed store. Two Rhode Island Reds, two Barred Rocks and an Ameracauna. One of the Reds is under the Ameracauna.

I am brand new to this site and am so excited that you exist. My neighbor just gave me a hen and we bought some chicks--a Rhode Island Red, a Barred Rock, and I couldn't resist the Ameracauna. I should say that I'm also brand new to backyard chickens, which is why I'm so happy that you exist...

I personally would place the boundary just south of Sacramento.
