This is a brilliant article! In order to produce 5 colors of eggshells, I have to keep 10 roosters. One main breeder and a backup rooster for each color of eggshell (chocolate, mint, olive, blue, pink). 10 or 12 breeding pens with one rooster and 2 hens each is getting to be a lot to maintain...

It’s nice to know that chicks can be hatched in a room below 70F. My power bill was twice as expensive last month, keeping the incubator room at 80F. My cat loved it though 😅

22 chicken eggs set, broke 1=21 incubated.
Of the 21 incubated, 12 infertile, 2 blood rings, 6 healthy hatchlings, 1 DIS (blood vessels absorbed, yet no pip. Eggtopsy showed head between legs with incomplete cranium, belly and beak).
