What to feed chickens to lay more eggs.

Exactly the reason i quit. My chickens loved them and it made a big difference in the feathers also. Now i feed a 13 way scratch that has them in it with some other grain.

Sunflowers are great for chickens. It is good protien. It will also give their feathers a nice glossy shine if you feed them the black oil sunflower seeds.

What to feed chickens to lay more eggs.

You can feed many things in between but to keep the birds laying well it needs to be over 16% protien. Look for a good type of scratch that is made up of mixed grains not just corn.

Has anyone had problems with this waterer?

I have the same waterer and it says to apply oil to the o-ring before use. The problem i have had is that i hang mine and occasionally the chickens knock the bottom off which leaks all the water out inside the coop. I have since moved mine outside and sat it on a block.

High protien layer feed will help in egg production. I feed 22% layer feed in my feeder and toss a cup of 16% 13-way scratch in the run it a mix of grains corn peas sunflower seeds and oats. I have 5 hens and average 4 eggs a day.

There are two 2x4's on their side like a ladder they use. I have watched them coming down and they use them. A couple times they flew down and seemed to do fine. Things i have read and from my experience the high the roost the more they like it.

Just bought these buffs Saturday. Was told they were hatched the first of June. When could I expect them to lay their first egg.
