I love roosters! My favorite part about owning chickens! I keep a lot of my roosters as pets, they will follow me around and sleep on me all day! Rooster refuge is a bad idea though, many birds come from diseases flocks. MG, Marek's, etc. are not fun... I had a friend in Arkansas that was taking...
Id guess he is a second generation easter egger due to his muff size, his blue egg gene may be too diluted to show through crossed with the sex links. You may get a brown egg with the faint blue/green egg shell or you may get a deep green egg. Try to hatch some chicks out and watch for the...
Hi Guys, Sorry for the lack of response, have had a really busy last few weeks. Unfortunately they did die, Kept them in the incubator for 70 days total and nothing. I was gone for day 60-70 so I did not have a chance to open the eggs and they were thrown out by who I had watching them. I...
I have an update on one of the emu eggs! I saw it wiggling today, I guess it may have been shy. Now its just so nerve wracking waiting for it to hatch.
Yeah I have a mercury thermometer, 2 digital, and the main temp controller that all show to be 96.5, and the hygrometers are also salt calibrated. Thanks for the tag and bump!

Hi, does anyone have any information on Jersey Giant coloring Genetics. I have a Black jersey giant rooster and a black hen, but the chicks I am hatching from them appear to be blue, and splash with very little being black, and the few that are black have white wing feathers growing in too. Im...
Did you force feed him the electrolyte water? If so did you use a tube? Some could have gotten in his lungs by accident. I wouldn't worry about that unless he is gasping a lot for air.
I think that the green poop and lack of strength could be coming from him not eating enough, which could be from the mite infestation or something else. You may also want to treat them with corid just incase they are overrun with cocci.
