    Brooding with a Seed Propagation Mat

    Has anyone brooded their chicks on a seed propagation mat? I have my brooder (big plastic tub) sitting on a prop mat and it is maintaining a pretty high temp without a need for a brooder light. Has anyone else been successful with this method. I find the chicks are far more active this way.
