Thank you so much.
I did candle them this morning and no pipping but one is clearly pushing up on the membrane now so no more checking. The humidity is really high. Maybe to high. What is good for goose eggs when it comes to lockdown humidity. Can you be to high? Mine is 89 right now
I'm on day 28 of my goose eggs and I cannot even see inside the shell to see movement at this point so not sure if they are still alive. I just put them into lockdown and was hoping that I would see them move ( rock ) like my ducks eggs do right before they hatch, but so far no movement. Could...
I usually run the bator dry as well, but I keep a moist paper towel over the two vent holes on top just to keep the humidity around 25-28 ish. I do not cover the holes completely but hump the towels up so the air can get in.
I am in New Hampshire so the heat is still running.
I am incubating goose eggs right now for the first time. Very nervous as I have only incubated duck eggs. Had two good hatches, the last batch just hatched out on the 25,26th and 27th of this month.
I am really hoping to successfully hatch these goose eggs. They are American Buff. I have 8 in...
If you cover the bowl all of the way it might heat up to much in there. I am sure she is sleeping from all of the hard work that went into hatching out. I guess time will tell with her. Sounds like the yoke sac was not absorbed all of the way, so just let her rest and pray.
I am in the middle of hatching baby ducks right now. The most important thing is don't panick. All that said, this has to be the exciting thing in the world to experience and the most tense time as well.
There is no guarentee that the hydrometer you order will be exact anyway so the biggest...
When you guys gave your chicks the hard boiled egg did you mash it all up until the yoke and white was all blended. It's easier for a baby bird to eat it this way.
Also, I am hatching out baby ducks right this very day and was wondering if sand would work for their brooder as well??
They do...
I think they are coming out of it now. It must be something to do with the hatching process. I have water in the brooder and they all seem to be liking that so it probably helps them
preen and stuff. Oh, a baby duckling just hatched as I am typing this :o)
Well, for one thing there is nothing better than God's creation unfolding right in front of your eyes :o)
I am a homeschool mom, and on the side love animals, especially birds . I use to raise finches inside the house and had a huge room filled with breeding going on and even had to hand feed...
Not all, but a few of my newly hatched ducklings have one closed eye. I did wipe down with warm water.
Is this common before they start to drink water. They are only a couple of hours old so hopefully it's just due to
that??
Has anyone else ever had this happened.
There is no goop or anything...
