    Duck Eggs Soon

We will be receiving our first Duck eggs on Friday and I have been trying to read up but am finding it hard to find information all in one place from start to finish. The biggest question I have at the moment is I keep seeing posts about spraying duck eggs, but is this in addition to the water...

    Ducks and Sand

Our birds free range in our yard with bird netting above the whole back yard, the sand would be for the inside of the coop, not the run.

    Ducks and Sand

We are currently getting ready to start building a new chicken coop for our chickens and are in research mode again, our hope is to get 2 or 3 ducks eventually and I want to make sure what we build is functional for both. We were considering adding a sand, DE, and PDF mix to the floor of the...

Where to find Welsh Harlequin Ducks in the PNW?

Thank you for the reply! I have been considering them, currently they are completely sold out and have no listing of availability. They also only appear to sell straight run, although it appears the welsh harlequin have a distinctive bill by sex for the first few days. If you go pick them up...

Where to find Welsh Harlequin Ducks in the PNW?

We are looking for 2 or 3 Welsh Harlequin Ducks to join our flock, but we have had heartbreak with shipping in the past and would like to find somewhere within a few hours driving distance of the Tacoma area in Washington state. Does anyone know where to look in this area? Help appreciated.

    Eagle detraction

I saw it fly away after killing one of our chickens on Sunday but was in such shock I wasn't sure I really saw an eagle, but we caught it in the act this afternoon trying to grab another chicken and it was definitely a bald eagle. I never realized how big they were until seeing one that close.

    Eagle detraction

I realize the best way to keep chickens safe is by keeping them in a run, but we are limited to the size of the run we can have and so we have our chickens free range in our back yard in a suburban area. We have plenty of bushes and hiding spots throughout our yard, and have had no casualties...

2 Muscovy Drakes about 6 Months Old -- Free to good home. Not for Stewpot

I have 2 sweet Muscovy Drake's in need of a loving home and female companionship. We live in a small town and apparently even though chicken and doves are allowed, Ducks are not. We were told we could keep them as indoor pets, but as they have gotten older it has been harder and harder to get...

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Looking for a home for 2 Muscovy Drakes that will not land them in a stew pot. We live in a small town that allows chickens and Doves, but apparently ducks is not included. We have been told we can keep them, but they must be indoors and considered indoor pets, but as they have gotten older...

    Muscovy duck Q&A

I have 2 male Muscovy that are about 5 months. One of them keeps nipping at the other one. He used to pluck the others wing feathers as they were both just starting to get them in and now he nipps at the others neck. It doesn't seem to be hard but the other duck hisses at him and tries to get...

    Muscovy duck Q&A

I have a 16 Week Muscovy male who is not tame and is still cautious around us, but is friendly. He will eat out of our hands, but doesn't really like to be touched. I notice sometimes his neck shakes like a shiver kind of like he is cold but the rest of him doesn't shake, just seems to be his...

Muscovy Drake needs home in WA State

We bought 2 Muscovy Ducklings in June and with the luck of the draw we ended up with 2 males. They are a little over 16 Weeks and I am fairly certain they are both males because they both hiss and seem pretty big (although no females to compare). We would like to find a home for one of the...
