Red Sex-link, Golden Sex-link, Golden Comet, Red Star...same breed?

Here's what I've heard. A Red Star, at least from Murray McMurray is a cross between a Rhode Island Red, a New Hampshire, and a White Leghorn. As for the process -- beats me. Does anyone have any other information?

WHEN ARE TURKEYS READY TO BUTCHER

I have four turkeys I purchased at the elevator in April, two BB and twoBW. They are about three months old and pretty big! Does age have anything to do with the toughness? I thought I read somewhere that they should be about 20 weeks old before butchering. Any help is greatly appreciated:)

    Fryers

I have about 50 slow broilers which I intend to butcher at ten weeks. The problem is I also have regular roosters, Doms, Delewares, RIR, dual purpose birds, that I want to butcher at the same time. As you can imagine they are about half the size.Just how old are you suppose to let your birds get...

    It's All Over. Inbreeding????

turnerstar31 I don;t think inbreeding has anything to do with it because if they came from a hatchery chances are they are not all related anyway. My guess is that your temp and humidity were off during incubation. Are you eggs just starting out the Sliver penciled ones because if they are than...

    It's All Over. Inbreeding????

Chicks Hatched With Guts Out HELP! Thanks to all that responded. Humidity seems to have been my biggest problem, I got caught up with the air space and didn't pay enough attention to the humidity. Don't know where I got the idea but I thought too much humidity would drown them, go figure. For...

how much do you charge for your eggs?

I live in Davsion Michigan. I have no trouble getting rid of all my eggs and truth be told could sell twice as many if I had them. I charge $2.00 for mediums, $2.50 for large and $3.00 for extra large. People don't seem to mind paying a premium for farm fresh, non cage, unmedicated eggs. Four...

    New Chicks

Greyfields, I agree transit does take its toll. Welp and Murry McMurray have to deal with transit also and make provisions. I guess my big complaint is that Ideal did not, no extras. Also an 11% loss rate doesn't fit my experieince. To be fair, I did call the hatchery and they offered to...
