Hi, I placed some eggs in water only 5days after been laid and some of them floated to the top. Why would this happen, I understand if they are rotten but not after 5 days of being laid. Thanks

I have milk crates .I place some wood in front of the crates, Its a lot better thanks for the advise. There is straw left inside now.

I use straw/hay at the moment but as soon as I place in the laying boxes the girls get in there and scratch it all out is there something else i could use so they don't scratch it all out. Sometimes they lay on the floor with the straw they have tossed out.

no signs at all, the day before she passed was running around outside eating drinking no signs at all

Thanks for the reply if one of them is egg bound would that effect her .Asking this because on the 25/10/22 i found her dead in the coop not in the laying boxes but in the entrance to the opening in the coop it's like she just dropped dead i am devo any ideas ???

I have 3 Isa Brown chooks had them for 2 years and only get 2 eggs per day. I was getting 3 per day then about 3/4 months ago started only getting 2 is this normal or is one of the girls not laying??I live in Australia.
