    Roo?!? Yay or nay?

What would be the normal age then that I would know for sure? About how many weeks or months? We were told they were all female when we got them and I knew there was a chance even then that they may not all be. This one just seems to be very aggressive/mean recently. Our Rhode Island Red is...

    Roo?!? Yay or nay?

See that's the thing I think cockerel as well because it's been much more redder and developed in its comb and waddles way before the others. And has always been much larger. Last week we lost our smallest one of the group. No clue what happened just found her dead in the am in the coop. Now his...

Safe to put my chicks outside yet?

I have 6 chicks. I am still running their heat lamp all the time. So I'm thinking perhaps turning it off during the day and then wait maybe a week and then transfer them outside with the heat lamp at night out there as well?

Hey yall. 1st time momma here. Wondering if and when it would be safe to put my 5week old chick she outside in their coop/run. I put them out some days now when it's nice out for a few hours but not permanently or overnight as of yet. Just wondering when everyone usually lets theirs out for...

    Newbie chick momma. Possible cockerels?!?

Ok. I've also read that they tend to grow faster. The silver Wyandotte has always been larger than the other silver (and the rest of the flock). She stand a lot taller as well. Not sure if that helps any. Here's a few more photos of this would help.

    Newbie chick momma. Possible cockerels?!?

We recently got 6 chicks that we were told were females. However I have a feeling one or two of them are not. The two in question of possibly being a male, I'll attach an image. One is a 3 week old Rhode Island Red and the other is a 3 week old silver lace Wyandotte. Any help is appreciated. [/IMG]

Ahhhhh I should've thought of that! Dang it now I feel silly. I wonder now if that's what she was doing. I should've known it was. Thank you for the suggestion. I have a feeling that's what it was now.

3 week old sikver lace wyandotte keeps squatting on the ground?!?

I'm a new chick momma and have 6 three week old chicks. 2 Rhode Island reds, 2 silver lace Wyandottes, 2 golden lace Wyandottes. We were told they were all female (I know, there's a chance they could be males). The one in particular (silver lace Wyandotte) I'm wondering if it's a male as well as...
