Sex these 6 week olds? Goldlace Wyandotte, Silverlace Wyandotte, Black Jersey Giant

The cross beak drinks water fine and eats pellet fine and as these birds get unlimited pellet I think this might work out ok. Her weight is good, a little lighter than the gold but not too bad. If she had to depend on foraging for a large percentage of intake she might not do OK. I''ve done...

The 1st one is at my house and is HUGE for EE at ~8.5lbs, she lays ~3 extra Jumbo eggs that are a pretty green each week, has not had 1st molt yet. She is named Wild Duck (by my 3 year old.) 10 week Ancona pullet or cockeral?

This exactly 10 week old Ancona is one birds I received as day old chicks from my pet chicken, sexed female. I got two Anconas, this one has huge comb and wattles and the other doesn't at all. This bird was quickest to grow and develope of the 12 mix breeds, and is, has always been, about 50%...

    Pullet Grower Tractor

I had 12 chicks that I plan on joining the hens when they are 16 weeks old so I built this to house them till then. In future I might use it to grow some ranger meat birds. The coop is on wheels, the front steers, and has screen bottom. The run is really light and just gets pulled over and...

Brabanters and Spitzhaubens--The Differences PIC HEAVY!

I recently recieved 12 day old chicks from MyPetChicken and the 12th bird I selected "Assorted Rare" and this is the chick I got. At couple days old (in pic) I thought Lakenvelder, but as SHE has feathered out its obvious now she is a cool looking Silver Appenzeller Spitzhauben. Thought I'd...

Should I open up underneath the adjacent shed to the chickens?

I have 7 pullets (based on coop and desires may someday go up to 16.) Adjacent to the fenced in run is a 12' by 16' shed (it forms a wall along this completely enclosed run (180 SF) in my small lot. To give the birds more room I was thinking of jacking the shed up and removing the hardware...
