    Easter Egger eggs change color?

It was already dark out so I used a picture from a couple-few weeks ago. I am curious though, how can you tell from the pics if they're ready to lay? Maybe I can sort out which one(s) have started. Also I can get a new pic tomorrow.

    Easter Egger eggs change color?

So it just occurred to me that maybe they’re not all laying yet because we didn’t realize they had started until we found six eggs. We have six ladies but I don’t have a recent picture of all of them together. Here are some pics. (The brown eggs are store bought.)

    Easter Egger eggs change color?

We just got our first eggs from our Easter Eggers and they’re all a light tan color. Is it possible that the colors will develop/change over time? We have six ladies and the kids were really excited about the idea of blue or green eggs.

    70* nights outside

Just coming back to post that all went well with the chicks and they've been happily living outside (since about 3.5 weeks old), in case anyone in the future is looking for info on this same topic. :)

    Rooster guesses?

Oh yeah the tail feather development is definitely contradictory. And I think I read somewhere along the way that EE's with grey legs are females. Only time will tell!

    Rooster guesses?

Our EE chicks turned three weeks old yesterday and I've noticed this one (Ninja) is developing a more prominent comb than the others. Also we've been hearing one make a different sound amidst all the cheeping, and have also noticed Ninja can be kinda bossy sometimes. So anyone want to take a...

    70* nights outside

Thank you everyone for the helpful responses, it sounds like 3 weeks is the consensus so next week-weekend should be perfect timing. 😃

    70* nights outside

There's so much info about raising babies in cold temps, but not so much for summer babies! Yours sounds like it will be a diverse and pretty flock! Mine are all Easter Eggers but there's quite the variety in their coloring so I'm hoping we'll have a fun mix. :love

    70* nights outside

unfortunately I don't have electricity out there so I can't run a lamp or heating pad

    70* nights outside

Ok thank you. I'm sure the first night I will check on them frequently, haha. They'll be 3 weeks on Tuesday so I'm thinking maybe next week-weekend. And a few nights before I think I'll start leaving their light off inside so I can see how they do and start to get them acclimated. I'm not sure...

    70* nights outside

Ah ok, that makes sense. There are 8 (updated my original post too) and I've noticed in the evenings they all cuddle up together. Thank you for the advice.

    70* nights outside

What age can chicks sleep in the coop with 70* nights without a heat source? Days are mid-high 90s and they've been spending their days in the run (with a roof/under the coop) this past week. I let them stay out until dusk and they're usually settled down and snuggled up but then I bring them...
