Hello....I am wondering what are the possible combinations that will produce a solid white polish bird? I hatched eggs that were from white crested black and silver laced...supposed to be 2 different pens from the breeder but somehow I ended up with a gorgeous white hen. I lost her...she was egg...
Hello- yes they are. Very sweet and very solid. We actually ended up with 7. We have 4 left...2 of which look like they are mixed with something other than silkie. They came from a hatchery. Coloring is really good...crests not so good but together with a good quality hen will make beautiful babies.
I have 4 lavender silkie roosters. 5 months old right now. Got these from a hatchery. They are descent quality. They seem to be mixed with something other than silkie somewhere in the generations to get the color. Solid bodies on the small side. Not really fluffy but the coloring is very nice...
Hello....do little red wattles automatically mean rooster? Also.... I have chicks hatched 5/21 that are already starting to crow (so I know those are roosters) is this normal for Polish? My silkies didn't start until they were about 6 months.
Hello-
So I figured I'd post a follow-up...we were flying out of Sacramento, CA and I really think the size of the airport may have figured into the experience. TSA was not phased at all. I happen to have TSA Precheck so my husband and I were the only people in line at approx 9 pm. They wanted...
Currently I have a couple small groups....6 week olds, 3 week olds and 1 week olds. We have white, blue, partridge, splash and champagne partridge. I have couple polish (large fowl, not bantam) coming as well...hopefully white crested blue.Adding lavender silkies in about 6-8 weeks!!
Don't know...
Thanks! Based on what I am reading that is kinda what I'm thinking. No doubt on the rooster...as you can see....he is strutting his stuff already at just 5 weeks old. I love them...they are so sweet and spoiled.
I need to post a picture of my frizzle silver lace...that one I have no idea.
The first 3 I put in the hatcher with hatching chicks. But I put them in on day 19 because I suspected they might be delayed due to low incubator temp. I take the chicks out 6 hours after they hatch. So humidity was as high as 85 but usually dropped to 65 after chicks dried. They pipped on day...
in case someone ever finds this thread with a similar situation...she died. She drowned in fluid in the air cell. The reason she was not making a sound was because she had aspirated the fluid. Not sure why. I've asked the question on the incubation board but no response. All of my shipped eggs...
This is a first for me. I have had exceptionally good luck hatching shipped eggs in an incubator. I usually get better than 90%. So I kept these eggs at about 25% humidity. I think my temp may have been low for this hatch. I think my incubator is dying. Most of the babies pipped internally and...
