I prefer to not use those plates. I had actually planned to order one of the "Premier" plates, until I got 24 Silkie chicks (from 1-3 wks old) from someone that used those plates. Every little silkie had its crest singed off! They are just now growing back.

I do not like sand, but am happy with pine shavings. We use it on our droppings board also. Our board is plywood covered with linoleum.The roost boards are 2x4s and they are moveable. I can take them out to clean them.

Thanks to you all! I am just now learning about Black Jack 57. What all do you use it on? Do you use it to seal open areas or what?

Building currently. . . I have had a poop board with linoleum before and it worked fantastic! I am just now learning about this Black Jack 57. Which one would be better to cover my plywood poop board with? I am not using sand or PDZ or anything like that. . . just a poop board. Thanks! :pop

It's a done deal. . . nothing is gonna change that. I just need to know what I can do to fix it, or at least make it a bit better. Thank you.
