    Super loud hen!

Thank you...:bow I finally placed some wire protector around my roses to keep them from digging into their roots. I've got to start hanging treats, just out of reach to keep them busy. So nice to find all you other chicken owners with the same problem. Love this place:love

    Super loud hen!

I can't believe it! I signed onto BYC to post this very subject!! I have 5 bantams hens (20 week ) and one of them is SO loud!! I don't know which one it is because when I go out there they stop, or she stops. She wakes me up in the am with a screaming BE-gaaw!! She does it off and on the whole...

Name your best laying bantam breed?

Hi!, I have 6 bantam pullets. Three Barred Rock and 2 RIRs. They are 16 weeks old on Monday ( tomorrow) and I'm still waiting. They are starting to go red in the face, especially the BRs. I know it's early yet but I can't wait to see how they lay. This is my first time with standard breed...

Thank you for the pic. Really helped. Now I'm more confident they are all pullets. My smallest bantam RR started like with a bum leg and I had to hold her to make sure she was breathing half the time. She is now the one having stand offs with out dog! It is funny just how different they all are...

That sounds like a very sound idea. Thank you! Scheduling seems a no brainier but I hadn't thought of it!! I hope that doesn't mean what I think it means!! I also have one gal who is larger then the others and still rather pale in the face. She's really quiet, I haven't found any parasites or...

I have 6 hens, 16 weeks old. One of them squawks until we let her out of the run!!! It's becoming very annoying. They have plenty of food and water, some treats to scratch around for and still she sqwaks. She starts early in the am, quiets after I go out and scold her, then starts up again I'd...

When to let the baby chicks into their new home

You can't really until they start to crow ... The ones we ordered came 80% sexing guarantee. So I'm waiting also! Someone else here on the boards might have more ideas. If you get a boy can you keep it? Have babies?

When to let the baby chicks into their new home

I'm in San Diego and it's been in the 90 s here. Finally cooled down today. My girls are three weeks old and we put them outside with a heatlamp at 2 weeks. Warm enough in the day for no heat lamp then we switch it on at night when we put them in the coop. It's into the high 50 s at night. We...

    Two week olds outside?

Sammylee I have three that look just like the darker one in your avatar. Do you know what she is?

    Two week olds outside?

That was my thinking also. I'll try to get the heat lamp set up and if that's successful I might move them. I have one that doesn't seem to be growing. She has a limp and sleeps a lot but she eats okay and poos okay so we are just waiting to see if she makes it. It is frustrating that they can't...

    Two week olds outside?

I'm using puppy pads and then covering that with paper towels when it becomes too soiled. Saves a change out a day. They are sooooooo sweet at that age! The power naps were my fav!
