When I rub the black blob with the qtip you can tell it's a little bloody so I'm worried if I do too much it will bust whatever it is

Thanks for getting back so soon. I have had some chicks pip as soon as I put them on lock down but not right before. The one egg is still chirping and moving so hopefully everything is fine. It was probably only 10 min. before I had them back in incubator with humidity and temp back to normal...

Mine has built in trays but I don't have water in them at all I don't add water until lockdown...great thats what I have marked on the calender so I'm gonna have easter ducks i hope lol

Thanks...my humidity naturally stays there I have added no water at all so I'm not sure how I could lower it...when do you put yours on lock down?? If my calculations are right they are due to hatch Easter weekend

No I don't because half the eggs were mine and the other half were from a girl I know. She wasn't sure which eggs came from which birds because hers is a mixed flock. Im sure the gray one came from hers because I have never had any like that. The ones with the white spot I'm sure are from mine...

It didn't make it that long it died probably around 12 hours...I don't think it would have made it regardless of what I did the blood was absorbed but the yolk was not plus I'm pretty sure it had some organs on the outside of its little body. :(
