I am doing my research into keeping chickens before I get started, but I have a few things I just can't wrap my mind around in terms of the coops. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1. Chicken Tractor? How often do you move it and isn't it heavy?
2. Pop door, do you leave it open all...
Could someone please explain a chicken tractor to me? How do you move it around your yard, from the pic on here, they look heavy? Also, what about the run, do you move it as well, and how?
This thing seriously confuses me. LOL
Thanks!
So I am doing my research to see if raising chickens is something I want to get into. I have been reading on here for days, but still have a few questions.
1. If I have a rooster, will my eggs always be fertilized, or is there only a specific time of the year for that?
2. How do I plan...
For me, dual purpose means meat and eggs. I don't intend to sell the eggs, just use them for the family. I was looking at New Hampshire reds to start with. I have fond memories of my grandma's.
I know they won't get as big or grow as fast as meaties, but if I do this I want something...
Ok, so i am doing my research to see if I want to try my hand at raising chickens. I know if I do it, i would want dual purpose birds, however, I have no clues how many chickens I would need in order to get eggs and have some raise chicks. Also, how do you plan coop space for egg layers, moms...
