Today I went out to feed my Wyandottes and one hen was just standing there and closing her eyes and trying to go to sleep it looked like and when i put in the feed she just stood there and didn't act like she was hungry. Before i got her out she took a sip of water. she is a little over a year...
Looks to me like a silver laced wyandotte but I'm not a chicken expert. Sorry just noted the comb and wyandottes don't have combs at least that's what I've been told, but also they do throw combs sometimes.
I was hoping it was something they can overcome with no ill effects. I did have one other one like this and he got better but it took about a month or so, he just held his head back when he drank. And I hoping its not hereditary, but if it is I won't breed. I've never seen anything about this...
CHICK 1 :My chick was born yesterday morning and it acts as though its front heavy, keeps falling forward. Its feet are fine so there is no problem in that area. Any advice.

None have zipped by themselves. I left them in since yesterday and i figured today they needed help. The 2 that have peeped I'll leave til in the morning then decide weather they need help also but hopefully not.
Yes, when they peep they are dry on the inside, the membrane that has the blood veins is dry. I have added water and have sprayed a mist on the eggs. I have a humidity gauge that I can put in and will.
The chicks are hatching now! They were due on the 25th, but my incubator has not been doing as good as it has this summer, because we heat the house with a wood burning stove; so keeping temp. is harder. In the summer we keep temp. about the same in the room but winter is different. I have 2...
I am having to hatch chicks because they are dry inside I would rather not do this can I spray them with a squirt bottle since eggs are porous? I have added water but some of it leaked out I don't think there is much I can do. Any help appreciated...
