That would be a hard decision for me. My neighbor has a 2 year old hen that her whole foot is rotated backwards. She seem to be a very happy and healthy hen. From the photos it does not look to bad. I probably would just leave it be.
I have a 3 year old EE. A few weeks ago she had a prolapsed egg vent. We worked through that and she seemed to be doing better. She has never been one to fight over who gets to eat first but she recently has not ate very much at all. She has lost weight, even more since the vent issue. I feed...

I have not clue what could be wrong, but I would probably isolate him and feed yogurt and some water with garlic. Those things can't hurt, and might put a little pep in his step til someone else comes along and can help you. You might also want to put this in the emgergencies section.
My red sex links and my white EE had mud butt. I decided to treat the cause, I put a garlic clove in their drinking water for several days and that took care of it. It has been at least 4 weeks and has not returned so far.
Maybe a picture of the "calcium ball with tail's" would help.
But for the nesting box problem, have tried putting an egg in the other nesting box? I saw it suggested on here and it worked for mine, who are just starting to Lay. Good luck...
Too much work for me.... is there any way you could devise a rain barrel to catch some water at the top of the hill? My boyscout husband made my girls a dinning fly and on rainy days it drains into their water bucket. I guess in CT it is more of a problem with the water being frozen.
