We cant even see inside...we've done flashlights...normal lights...We've been thinking of a stethoscope...and were just wanting to know what method Quail enthusiasts have been using...pictures of your contraptions would be helpful too...
thanks
Quail eggs are difficult to candle for us...the shells are thick...they're often coloured blue on the inside...We've tried a number of methods...We'd like to know who uses what method to do candeling of the eggs...We'd like to be able to tell if we should be tossing eggs or leaving them in the...
Make sure that there is 12 hours of light available to them....give the lots of room...she'll need an area where she can scurry off and get away from his attentions and mating...its best to follow 4-1 ratio in the future for male to female...1 male for every 4 female...

We're concerned about this outdated bylaw...we'd love to work with you to work on some revisions...contact us for more information and to liase felixferdinand...thanks
We've had our fair share of lost chicks...from trying to help them out of their shell. and having them die.....to having the cats get in the brooder and playing to rough with them...No ones perfect...
We've found that our ratio is a bit higher...when there is a low ratio the females are over worked (so to speak) and the male will pull the heck out of the back of their head with some having a bald spot....and small marks..and some light bleeding that needs constant tending...we're at 1:8 ratio...
the female bob white is very gregarious in with the other quail...the males are the aggressive ones and are in a separate cage...we had one female and 4 males....we've had to further segregate one of the males from the others as he was very aggressive...so he's on his own...we'll sell him off to...
thanks for the clarification and insight...

We have a number of different breeds together
Standard Brown Courtnix, Beige (something or other), Texas A&M, Himalayan and a Bob White...
We're not in front of the Aviary 24-7 so when we find the eggs we're not sure which ones are laying them...
One of our female Courtnix has what appears to be a very large hemorid...it looks like her vaginal walls have come out...we've segregated her from the others and put her in the brooder with the baby chicks...
does anyone know of a cure for this...it appears we can push this back up inside but it...
Thanks for that....curious as to what you use for an incubator...we did a homemade one...and having problems with temp flux...we just used a 25w bulb, a stubby mason jar with a wet towel in and a humidistat thermometer that we put in the styrofoam cooler...we did get some hatches but lots of...
Great advise
We'll look into both of them
Cost is a bit of a factor...as will be shipping charges and any duties we might have to pay here in Canada.
The Auto Egg turner will definitely free up some time for us too...well worth the extra few dollars it seems.
Now all we have to do is find out...
