Hello everyone, I have something strange happening with one of my hens. She is two years old (not sure if age makes a difference) but I notice that her tail feathers have all come out and I noticed that her wing and butt feathers are thin and this morning I noticed what looked like grey stuff...
I have a problem, my BR started sitting on all the eggs from the other hens about two days ago. She will sit all day on the eggs someone told me she wants to be a mommie...Should I let her be a mommie (which means I will need a Roo) or can I brake her from doing this with out her getting...

I totally agree with you. I am a Girl/Boy Scout Leader and one day I had my son with me, we came across someone flying a flag that looked about 100 years it was torn and faded. My son went to the person in charge and explained he was a Boy Scout and that he would gladly take the flag and retire...
That make me feel better, she is a big girl almost as big as my RIR I guess she needs a little more time to get them large. I do have to say they are so small there cute
Hello I was curious if Barred Rocks lay small eggs. I have for RIR and ley all lay large to extra large eggs and my BR just started laying a couple of days a go and her eggs are small, is this normal or will her eggs get bigger as she grows?
Try looking for a pet store that deals in only birds. I baught my RIR at a pet store but all the guy sold was birds and more birds and chickens was one of them. I would also contact the local humane department and ask them because zoning may say one thing but if the humane deaprtment say another...

I just bought one , she is 2 weeks now and so adorable. I was wondering how are they at egg laying? The chicken farm I got her from said they lay as much as my RR and that they would get along great with my RR.
