I have an African Grey gosling that is 17 days old now, her name is Maroo. Two days ago she had what appeared to be an "eye burger" in her left eye. While I was holding her she shook it out of her eye on her own. I didn't think anything of it because she seemed perfectly fine. The next day when...
Thank you for the information. I checked out the other thread and I'm not convinced that it's the food. I have about 35 chickens and gather about 20 to 24 eggs a day and the "mushy" boiled eggs only happens once in awhile. The oldest layers I have are only a year and a half old. Hmmm, still a...
I am a new member to this community but it seems that when I post a question or something I don't get an answer. There might be a few that want to argue but that's not why I joined this group. A lot of people have been very helpful and I thank you all very much for that, but I don't understand...
Welcome to BYC :) I have Buff Orpingtons and they are wonderful! They get broody but they dont peck when we gather eggs. Great mommas too ;) Making a "Chicken Tractor" is not too hard to do and the chickens get plenty of fresh grass al long as you move them around. Good luck with your...

That doesn't look like pox at all. I am currently fighting wet and dry pox. Looks like he just got into an argument with someone and he will be fine. Good luck :)
If the younger pullet has any kind of bare spots you can put Vaseline on those spots and it will keep the others from pecking on those spots. Otherwise, I agree, it's just a pecking order issue that you can't interfere with. Good luck :)
Alot of my grown hens sneeze. It hasn't slowed egg production or does it seem to be a bad thing. The coop and grounds are clean so the sneezing is not from that. Maybe from the wind blowing dust around but not from being in a dirty environment.
Yea, it sounded that way to me as well. I dont think I will be "picking chicken scabs" today. The antibiotics are to prevent the resperitory infection I guess. I have only been raising birds for a year and a half so I am fairly new to this. I am terrified to loose my flock. I was told when we...
