My mama hen that sat on a golfball so I had to buy her babies has begun laying again. I found an egg in her pen and no other chicken has access. Will she stop mothering the babies they are not even a month oold
So far they are still ok but I dont think she is taking them out to eat. Shes just sitting. I'm going to give her another couple hours but that's it because their 48 time frame for the yolk sac is up and I'm not gonna let them starve
So you may have seen my last post of my brahma who sat on a golfball. Well I got her some newborns and she seems to be mean to one of them. She pecks at it. I wouldnt say aggressively like it's not like when the hens peck each others feathers out but she just seems mean to this one. The other 3...
Omfg that's hilarious. Well I plan to pick up some newborn hatchlings tomorow. I'm told if I stick them under her at night she will likely accept them. I hope so because iv tried breaking her and shes relentless.........
So my 2 year old brahma hen has decided to sit. But not on eggs.....on a golfball. I tried removing the golfball to another nest box as I put them in to try and deter pecking. She moves to the nest with the golfball.......why has she chosen this golfball as her offspring......
They have lamps. I know alot of people are against them but they are well secured and caged. They have a little wooden shell box i made out of dowels. Just big enough for the little ones. He was in the corner by himself when i found him.
I didnt think he could get in the water bowl but maybe he did. They have their own heat tho so i dont know......but from what i can tell its permanent and he will never be a normal rooster.....thats fine. I didnt hatch him with the need to be perfect
When he hatched he was very weak. He couldnt stand at all he just fell over. I fed him yolks and vitamin water for days and he seemed to recover. Had been fine ever since. He usually lives in the seperated pen for youngins with his big sister who is a month older and his big brother mowgli. Hes...
My 2 month old roo willie has developed a problem. He had a difficult hatching and for several days i wasnt sure he would survive. A week after birth he was fine and running around with his brother. Now i check in him this morning his toes are odd colors and curled. Assuming he was cold( he does...
