    My mama buff Orpington. She had 6 little fluffy butts And my mama bourbon red turkey, who's eggs all went bad. She ended up adopting a 4 week old Orpington chick as her own baby. They still sleep snuggled up together.

    Thank you! I opened it up big enough that, once I pulled his head out a little, I could see his yolk wasn't totally absorbed yet so I put him in a cup still with his bottom half in the shell and then back in the incubator. Hopefully in a few hours!

    Thanks, I think so, and my son is madly in love with him! Ok, yeah he just seemed so small for that age. I looked closely and I see little tail feathers starting. He cracks me up with his tiny wings, so different than the chicks and poults I'm used to.

    I bought a duckling and some chicks from a woman who was ill and couldn't take care of them any longer. She told me the chicks were 2-2.5 months old but they have got to be 4 weeks olds tops.     Yeah, that's totally a rooster. A hen won't get wattles like that until point of lay, about 20-25 weeks (varies by breed of course, but not this young).
