    Weird Egg Abbreviations

Hello all, for xmas, my dad ordered me a dozen fertilized eggs off Amazon, which came today. I know a few of the abbreviations (BR=Barred Rock, RR-Rhode Island Red), but there are quite a few that have me stumped. I've listed them exactly as they're written on the eggs: 1: SB? BT 2. AZR...

    Frostbite?

Yeah, the 2.5" horizontal. Also, good to know about the Neosporin. I'll do that right now and keep her in.

    Frostbite?

Also, I have vaseline and neosporin. Should I use a combination of the two or just neosporin? Nothing is sloughing off and it doesn't look infected at all

    Frostbite?

Yeah, I have a 1x3, which does allow them to fully cover their feet, and just looking at the pattern, it looks like something splashed on her feet. I've never dealt with frostbite, but I would think if it was because of an inability to cover her toes, it would have worked distal proximal and...

    Frostbite?

Yeah, I've never had this problem before. I think it might be from her running around in the snow. There was never any blistering though, and I think I would have noticed. In the spectrum of "frostbite" does this look bad or minor? And thanks for the reply.

    Frostbite?

Hey everybody, I was examining my chickens today, and it looks like one has frostbite on one of its toes. I just wanted to be sure before I started freaking out. We just had a really cold spell and snow in NC, and I'm wondering if she got it while running around? No swelling, just black spots...

    Listless hen

I agree with TwoCrows. I'd be worried about her being eggbound or an internal layer if she's listless and keeps to herself. Is she waddling at all? Does her abdomen seem extra firm in comparison with your other hens? The fact that she's still eating/drinking is a good sign, so make sure that you...

    Chickens won't go outside...

If they're pecking each other, it usually means they're nutrient deficient or don't have enough space. How many chickens do you have per square foot?

They are allowed: http://townhall.townofchapelhill.org/agendas/2009/03/09/7a/20090309_o6a.htm You can have up to 10, although that would be too many for me and my gf!

    Sneezing Chickens?

I'm a little confused. Do they stay within the barn all day? Are you talking about letting them out of the stall and roam around INSIDE the barn itself? Would you mind posting a couple of pictures? If so, I doubt there's that big of a temperature difference. As long as they or their coop are not...

Food elevated but will that keep the mice out???

For the PVC feeder you can change the size of the openings in the trough so they don't sling their food all over the place. This video has a good example: . Make a smaller diameter opening if they keep doing it.

    Sneezing Chickens?

I second Eggcessive. I'd also make sure the coop has good ventilation because although it may not be an infection now, bad ventilation can lead to those things.
