My sil has black sex links. She wants to add a rooster so she can get fertilized eggs and hatch her own chicks...but she wants those chicks to be good layers and meat birds for future eggs/meat. What breed roo does she need to add to her flock? Is the blk sex link a mix with a barred rock...
Dh has decided to go to cancun for our anniversary. In 2 weeks. He's already got th trip planned and whatnot. We would leave the 8th in the am. Soooo what about a passport? How long does it take to get them? Kind of a big deal, right? Do I go to sec of state? Thanks in advance!
My chicks are about the same age. I even have some 3 weekers out too. I put them into the coop with a heat lamp. I have 28 chicks though so their body temp helps too. They've all been fine first night it was down to 35. I also had a second lamp out there but needed to bring it in for a hospital...
Thanks for the input! I'm glad I asked..I thought I read somewhere that grit/oystershell was pretty much the same thing but now I know better! p.s. I did not feed them any...I will throw their treats out and just let then go for it

I checked my two local tscs every week hoping for silkies or even polish. Not one. And you just happen to come accross 7 when out looking at discount chicks. Sigh. Lucky! *I'm jealous!*
The one on the right looks sorta like my chicks. I though OEGB for a while but now I'm sure shes*crosses fingers* a silver phoenix. Look at the phoenix chicks....maybe that's what it is
Is there anything else that can cause it? I teally doubt it being their overcrowded as there's only 9 in there end half are bantams, and they're all under 4 weeks and its a big space...any other ideas?
It started with my duck. They plucked out tail feathers. I got her separated and bandaged up...now more than half of my chicks(older ones) are outside. The younger ad bantams are still in the brooder. Went down this morning and overnight someone plucked at my BO chick and her tail is bleedimg...
