    Would neighborhood cats be considered predators? We lost 2 of our girls today and the only animals we've seen near the birds are neighborhood cats. One the head Is missing the other was torn to shreds. Not even eaten. Looks like a sport kill.

    I put in a new roosting bar for the chickens. I ripped a 2x4 down to 2 1/2" based on what I've read chickens like, also for cold whee so that their feet are covered in cold weather. the ladies were roosting on the nesting box even though it's lower than the roosting bar.     Mine are doing the same thing. I think it's because of the heat. Or she's hiding because she might be scared. New surroundings and such.

    Family of three on 1.25 acres. Garden, beekeeping, composting, and now chickens. 4 americaunas. We got easter eggers on a recommendation for having a young toddler. Not sure what else you all need to know. We look forward to being in the community.

    I will try to get a picture tomorrow. But they are not sitting in the Sun they're always in the shade. Temperatures havebeen in the mid eighties I don't know if that has anything to do with anything.
