Hey sjisty!
YES she's doing great!
She actually laid an egg this morning! ( so I think she's feeling much better )
Still giving her aspirin, she's been off the antibiotic since Monday. Her wounds have mostly scabbed over, and there are a couple off places that it's come off and there's pink...
Tried a onesie this time in hopes it would fit better, but she's still trying to eat the neosporin running down her leg. Tried to put the matching bib to good use in hopes it would keep her from reaching it. It worked, but she kept stepping on it so I removed it.

She is still going strong, the wounds are changing, I removed some of the necrotic tissue but there is still a bit left....
It seems like they are drying out?
I'm trying to keep them moist with medicine.
I think her leg is weeping a bit as well.
She's not given me any fuss about taking...
Thank you ten chicks,
Yes I've used it before but I'm trying to hold off in hopes that the betadine will kill off any bacteria.. All seems to be going well, but I'm wondering if the dying skin will fall off on it's own or should I continue to trim it?
Thank you Debs55
I hope so! She's been such a trooper and has been so strong thru all of this. She's a pet and we love her! She's a lot like a lap cat lol
Concerning peroxide...
I used a 50/50 peroxide rinse the day of the injury to get rid of any debris, and followed up with betadine tea...
Big skin flap, we cut it with sterile scissors. Also removed some of the feathers that were getting into it.
Those are soggy bits of bread on the towel, I try to offer soggy treats so she will associate the process with goodies.
It doesn't have an odor, all I can really smell is garlic??? I will ease up on the chopped garlic as it could be masking an odor...
I took some pics of tissue we removed tonight, it was hanging off... There is still a bit more but it's stuck to her side so I don't want to move it until it...
She isn't bleeding at all, and it wasn't bleeding at the time of injury. This happened Saturday morning. Since then she's getting rinsed with betadine and coated in neosporin and vetricyn daily. The skin that's hanging is kind of white and mushy. Some of the feathers are sliding out. It doesn't...
I have a previous thread about my hen who suffered a dog attack. The wound is very bad, most skin on left side from middle of Breast to thigh was ripped off, but there is some remaining skin that is hanging here and there, one bit is laying in top of a deep gash in her thigh. The front of her...
Ten chicks
Yes she is eating, but not very keen on drinking... She drank a sip today ( I carried her outside to her favorite drinking bowl to see if the habit of drinking in that area would trigger her to drink. Worked briefly)
She isn't wanting to drink much tho.
But she's still eating. She...
