Tried a onesie this time in hopes it would fit better, but she's still trying to eat the neosporin running down her leg. Tried to put the matching bib to good use in hopes it would keep her from reaching it. It worked, but she kept stepping on it so I removed it.

Hey sjisty!

YES she's doing great!
She actually laid an egg this morning! ( so I think she's feeling much better )
Still giving her aspirin, she's been off the antibiotic since Monday. Her wounds have mostly scabbed over, and there are a couple off places that it's come off and there's pink shiny skin there... I don't see any feather follicles just yet, maybe it's too early to tell but I hope they will grow back. I ve let her go out with me a couple of times this week, to chat with the girls. She really misses her normal activities, but I'm still nervous about an infection popping up. I made her a fleece vest to wear when I take her out ( only about 2 hours ) to cover the wound and keep her warm. She gets chilly pretty easy. She does try to dust bathe when we go out! So I stop her and she just gives me this awful look lol...
Anyway, she's doing MUCH better thanks to you all. Especially you sjisty, you all saved her life and I thank you for it!!!!! We are still rinsing every night with betadine tea and coating in neosporin and vetricyn. She's gotten so used to the routine that she holds her wing up for me while I do the whole process. ( bribing with meal worms helps a lot I'm sure ) still giving aspirin, as well as a boiled egg each day. Will post pics of the wound tonight here are a couple from yesterday.

She loves to chit chat with the younger chicks. I put them outside in a pen to play each day. ( they are getting to big for brooder)

I'm so glad she's doing better since that attack!

I've read of someone who had a chicken attack & there was a huge gaping hole in the bird's back with much of the skin removed. Contrary to the advice they heard about 'letting wounds breathe and scab', they ended up sealing the gap/muscle (w/o skin) with bandages/wraps & ointment. It caused the skin to regrow faster but they had to do a lot of cleaning & rewraping to make sure there was no infection or dryness.

So basically their focus was: Clean, covered (no air), dark (no sun), keep ointment on wound (moist) & no scabs (slow skin growth).

I wish I had the link but it was quite informative from a different healing method/mindset.
