I'm so glad she's doing better since that attack!
I've read of someone who had a chicken attack & there was a huge gaping hole in the bird's back with much of the skin removed. Contrary to the advice they heard about 'letting wounds breathe and scab', they ended up sealing the gap/muscle (w/o skin) with bandages/wraps & ointment. It caused the skin to regrow faster but they had to do a lot of cleaning & rewraping to make sure there was no infection or dryness.
So basically their focus was: Clean, covered (no air), dark (no sun), keep ointment on wound (moist) & no scabs (slow skin growth).
I wish I had the link but it was quite informative from a different healing method/mindset.
